Enjoy breathtaking volcanic landscapes and taste rare wines from Fuerteventura. During the hike you will enjoy absolute peace and breathtaking views. Afterwards, a wine tasting with traditional tapas awaits you.
Away from the civilization, we will hike through the impressive volcanic landscape. On the way you will see various former agricultural cultivation areas. The crater of the 461 meter high volcano was formerly used as a volcanic garden. The volcano La Gavria is surrounded by a surprisingly well-preserved volcanic landscape. In Pais Chico, you can see the landscape formed by lava flows and pyroclastic material. At about 100 meters, we will reach the first hill. We will take a short break here and enjoy the impressive view. Since the entrance to the main crater is difficult to access, we do not go further.
After our break, we will continue our hike towards the finca "La Gayria" in Tiscamanita. This will take us about 45 minutes. The Agrartourismus finca has an in-house bodega. Various types of wine from the Malvasia grape and Listan Negro are grown here and processed to wine. A flavorful wine-tasting of the local wines as well as typical Fuerteventura tapas (tomato salad, bread, goat cheese and olive oil) are awaiting you.
We will pick you up at your hotel or the agreed meeting point in the south of Fuerteventura (Morro Jable, Esquinzo, Costa Calma, Tarajalejo). From there we will head to the starting point of our hike. The distance of the hike will be about 8-9 kilometers and about 200 meters of altitude. The tour is characterized as an intermediate hike. We recommend you to wear hiking or trekking boots, but at least sports shoes. In addition, you should bring a bottle of water as well as sunscreen and a sun hat. In case you take some cash with you, you will have the chance to buy wine directly from the bodega. After the wine tasting, we will take you back to your hotel or the meeting point. The pick-up times are as follows: 9.00 am in Morro Jable, 9.10 am in Esquinzo, 9.30 am in Costa Calma and 9.50 am in Tarajalejo
